I frequently read the Living Proof Ministries blog written by Beth Moore and her two daughters, Amanda and Melissa. For 2009, LPM has challenged their readers with scripture memory. The plan is to pick out a new verse to memorize on the 1st and another one on the 15th.....so if you follow the plan you'll memorize 24 pieces of scripture this year.
Since over 3000 people have posted that they will participate I was wondering if any of my real life friends were. If you are, then comment so we can encourage each other throughout this year. And I'd love to know what verses you are memorizing....
My verse for the first two weeks in January is Psalm 119:9-12
How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.
I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart that
I might not sin against you.
Praise be to you, O Lord,
teach me your decrees.

Ooh, me too! I am so behind on checking blogs so I hadn't even seen it but I already felt this was something God had laid on my heart...so thanks for letting us know!
I'm so excited for the accountability! I'll be doing this one first:
Hebrews 13:20-21
20 May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,
21 equip you (my husband) with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us (my husband) what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
I had seen this one last year in a book on marriage with the words "my husband" put in and I really liked the idea of praying this over Scott.
But I really need to do the one you are doing too...maybe next time!
Yay!
ok, now scripture memory is something I despretly need to work on. and spelling (lol). How about I start this up on the 15th and in the meantime find the perfect verse. I love it!

LOVE IT! I'll start on the 15th!!!! Thanks for this great idea!!!
Okay, I just watched the tutorial videos and I'm changing the verse back to the original (without using "my husband") since she recommeneded that! I didn't even think about the point she made about this, but know that I NEED this verse anyway :o)
How are you doing with it?
